The Workshop “Fuori dai luoghi comuni” involves 20 students coming from the 4 schools of Istituto Europeo di Design (IED Moda Lab, IED Design, IED Visual Communication and IED Management Lab). The students started at 9.30 AM, whereas the teachers explained the theme of the WS and the objectives of the day.
The Macrotheme “FUORI DAI LUOGHI COMUNI” has been defined through two specific themes linked to the young Milan generation:
1 – Socialize without consuming/spending
2 – Exhibitionism and timidity
The teachers gave the students pillars (key points) and limits to keep in mind and follow during all the project.

- Economy of the project
- Responsible using
And these the limits (Words to avoid):
- Social Network
- Touch Screen
Finally, before starting with the research, the students have been asked to switch off their cell. phone and to think without facebook.
The 20 students have been divided into 4 groups. Two groups are working on the first theme and the other two on the second one.
The objective of this firts day of work is to come up with some embrional concepts, well focused on the key values previously explored and defined through the sessions of Brain Bang and brain focus by each group.
